In 1970th the intensive development of industrial risk estimation methods started in connection with atomic engineering development, they were further used in other branches.
In 1980-90th the system of estimation and reliability and safety maintenance of industrial equipment was formed in the majority of industrially developed countries, it was provided with corresponding standard and methodical base.
In history of the reliability theory it is possible to name 4 stages:
- till 1943 – the “pre-science” period, reliability questions hadn’t consistency and scientific approach, reliability problems were considered incidentally from various methodological positions;
- 1943-1958 - the “pencil-paper” period, when reliability description contained more probability-statistical methods, the moments of refusals were considered as purely casual events without finding the reasons of their occurrence;
- 1958-1968 - development of basically experimental methods of reliability estimation, active studying of reasons of refusals occurrence (“physics of refusals”), gathering and processing of operational information, development of elementary models of refusals;
- after 1968 - prevailing development of mathematical apparatus of the reliability theory and applied engineering methods.
The modern reliability theory is based on fundamental mathematics laws and natural sciences. The mathematical apparatus of the reliability theory allows to develop methods of calculation of technics reliability characteristics of almost any complexity. The second theoretical basis of reliability science are results of researches of physical and chemical processes of destruction, deterioration, aging and change of properties of materials and environments, i.e. “physics of refusals”. The third basis of the reliability theory is a set of methods and algorithms of calculation, designing and optimization of concrete kinds of technics and elements (equations and dependences describing working processes).
Many questions of reliability of concrete technical systems should take into account the specific features of their processes. However during the last years researches on reliability basically are directed on development of theoretical bases of reliability with uniform system-technical positions and working out of methods and recommendations on calculation and increase of reliability of various technical objects. It allows to use effectively in some cases the methods developed for one kinds technicians in another, to consider the general laws and to reveal fundamental laws of reliability.
The efficiency of operation of technical system is connected first of all with use according to its intended purposes, therefore the primary goal of management of technical use process is to increase a share of usage time with comprehensible expenses for maintenance service and repair. This problem determines with methods of increase of structural reliability of technical systems and optimum choice of maintenance service system and norms of spare elements expense.
The maintenance of demanded level of technical reliability of warehouse and transport equipment demands the development of a wide complex of activities which are carried out during design, manufacturing and operation stages.
The analysis of estimated functional connections to define the basic characteristics of equipment technical reliability of various types shows that system reliability first of all depends on its structure (the structurally-logic scheme), reliability of elements and a great number of technological and operational factors. Therefore difficult technical systems use various methods of increasing reliability.
To achieve high indicators of technical reliability of logistics infrastructure it is necessary first of all to analyze the possibility of increasing of elements reliability. The effect of increase of system reliability is more considerable when system is more difficult and contains more elements. However more often more reliable elements have the big dimensions and weight, more difficult own structure and, as a rule, higher cost. Besides, the realization of some methods of increasing reliability elements demands carrying out of difficult constructive, technological, operational and organizational activities. Therefore in each specific case it is necessary to correlate useful effect from element reliability increase with expenses for its realization.
However the use of methods of increase of elements reliability doesn’t give a considerable effect or it is impracticable for the various reasons. In these cases the increase of reliability of technical system is possible only as a result of change of its structural scheme.
Summary and results anticipated. The modern level of reliability of a hardware of logistical infrastructure should not be a simple tribute to fashion that is often observed at building of the high-rise automated warehouses, it should be a decision based on a functional purpose of a warehouse, features of entering and leaving goods traffics, requirements of client base to formation of orders, storage conditions of warehouse stocks, etc.
The present research with the use of described methods of the modernization of logistics infrastructure for increasing technical reliability is an effective, it was proven in the present project.
